The Equipment of the Team Delphinus
No
Whit the coming of the Canon T70, meteor photography
advanced into the best camera battery system ever build. And the basics of
the systems of 1983 are till today very successfully in use by the Delphinus
team.
Because of the more and more successful
crash campaigns, there was a need to go further and faster; traveling great
distances to gather a successful observation under clear weather conditions.
But because of the weight and size of the Photographic camera arrays it was
necessary to travel by large van
During the Leonids crash campaign of 1996 the idea of two portable photographic
stations that can set up within minutes came up and in august 1997 the thirst
of the new fast portable camera batterys "The Canon T70-50mm project"
(that contains 11x T70 and 50mm FD 1,8 optics) was used in the Perseids campaign

After it successfully deployment there was a need to go futher and a "Canon T70 -85 mm project"( that contains 6 Canon T70 and the perfect Canon FD 85mm 1,8 optics for a even higher resolution) was made. This was first deployed at the Lyrids 1998 verry successfully.
After that; Robert and Casper were "really getting busy" and build in a record time of 3 months two more 50mm and 85 mm projects !!!
Now two station Photography was possible
within the team Delphinus!
The two fully operational porable stations (Whit four camera battery' s) saw first light at the Draconids 1998 And whit there new Laser-cut six and eight blades sectors were used in the Leonids fireball outburst in China on the Delinga and Ulan stations
In 2001 one more Canon T70-50mm project was build by Jos Nijland for the use in three station Photography. On the Sino Dutch Leonid Expedition 2001 all tree stations will be photographing the leonids meteorstorm from China
